Corkellis House // Linea Studio

I think I’m in love -- with this House and its Designer /Owner Kathryn Tyler. This simply stunning interior design by Kathryn Tyler of Linea Studio, bespoke sits with design classic and feels comfortable with vintage. Throw in wide open spaces, concrete floors, white walls and a workspace/studio to die for… I'll gladly have a home like this one day.

Kathryn's original plan to use her skills to build her own house on a tight hillside plot in her mum and dad's back garden in Falmouth, were put on hold when her father died. Now Kathryn has revived those plans and designed a Scandinavian-inspired eco house to fit into this extremely limited plot.
Although built from quite conventional materials, the house itself is far from normal. With a white painted brick ground floor, and a lightweight timber frame first floor, this cubist shell provides the interior designer a chance to show off her flair inside, with cleverly designed zones and beautifully displayed vintage Danish furniture.
What I loved about this house was Kathryn’s attention to detail, her perfectionism, and the way that she knew what she wanted and never swayed from it. Her plans were neat and concise with detail that was above and beyond.
The timber against the crisp whites and grays are so clean and fresh. The timber cladding on the upstairs of the building is spectacular.
This home has reignited my desire to further my studies in design...Thank you Kathryn for doing so and Well done Grand Designs for an inspiring episode -- keep 'em coming!
